DM nudges to assignees¶
Instead of (or as well as) posting a digest to a channel, Jira Reminders can send each assignee a private DM with only their own issues.
In the reminder editor choose a delivery option:
- Post to a channel β the classic shared digest.
- DM each assignee β everyone gets their slice; nothing is posted in the channel.
- Both β a channel summary plus personal nudges.
Each nudge lists the person’s issues with status and due date and offers:
- π On it β acknowledges the nudge (recorded for the reminder owner).
- π€ Snooze all until tomorrow β creates a personal follow-up for every issue in the nudge.
- β― on any issue β remind me in 1 hour, 3 hours, tomorrow, in 2 days or next Monday.
Personal nudges are part of the full scheduled output: free workspaces get them during the ten-run preview.
Matching people¶
Jira and Slack are separate accounts, so we match them in this order:
- Someone who connected their own Jira account is matched exactly.
- Their Jira email, when your Jira site shares it, is looked up in Slack.
- If no shared email is available, set a manual match. Names alone never select a recipient.
Anyone still unmatched is listed in a DM to the reminder owner with a link to Match people in the web app, where a signed-in workspace member can set or correct a match. Any legacy name-only matches must be confirmed manually before delivery. Changes apply across the workspace. Unmatched people do not receive DMs. Selecting Disable DMs prevents personal DMs and @mentions until someone explicitly sets a new match.
Personal reminders (“My work”)¶
Choose the My daily work DM template, or the Assigned to me, My overdue issues and Watching or reported by me groups, and send them to your own DM. These use your Jira connection, so connect your own Jira account first. Home β Open my work β Send my work now sends it instantly.
Matching large directories¶
Open Workspace β People matches. The page imports both directories in small, resumable batches and matches unique shared emails automatically, ignoring casing and surrounding spaces. It reads the full Jira user directory rather than a sample of recent issues, and continues through every Slack cursor. Jiraβs connected account needs Browse users and groups permission; hidden emails still need manual matching.
Search Jira by name, email, or account ID, then filter to Needs a match, Manually matched, DMs disabled, or Email not shared by Jira. Jira results appear 50 at a time. Select Match person or Change match to search Slack; the picker shows 20 results per page, including email and member ID to distinguish people with the same name.
Manual matches and disabled-DM choices survive refreshes. Duplicate shared emails are left for manual review. Inactive accounts, bots, and invited Slack accounts are excluded. Use Pause import and Resume import & matching if needed; progress is saved between visits. Imports pause safely if a provider fails or rate-limits a request.
